If you own a Macbook Pro manufactured between May 2007 and September 2008 with the GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor, and you are having video problems, get in touch with Apple. "In July 2008, NVIDIA publicly acknowledged a higher than normal failure rate for some of their graphics processors due to a packaging defect", and if your Mac is affected by this, Apple will fix it.

I found this out while searching for a solution to the video problems of my MacBook Pro. It's getting fixed now (free of charge), but not because Apple got in touch with me :-)

Hope this seed helps some other Mac user.
